Documenting the Process: Teamwork & Structural Design
The Architecture of Compassion
Canstruction Lethbridge brings together teams of architects, engineers, and designers to create extraordinary structures from ordinary canned goods. The process begins months in advance, with meticulous planning and structural calculations that push the boundaries of what is possible with simple pantry items.
During the build-out phase, teams have just 6 hours to transform their blueprints into reality. Witnessing the synergy between design professionals and community volunteers highlights the shared commitment to solving hunger in Southern Alberta through creative excellence and engineering ingenuity.
Every build tells a story of collaboration. From the first can placed to the final structural check, these behind-the-scenes moments capture the sweat and passion that fuel this unique competition, ensuring every structure stands tall until the final donation is delivered to our local food banks.
